Officer Marcus Dubuclet

The Gretna Police Department would like to acknowledge Officer Marcus Dubuclet for his outstanding performance during the month of January, 2008.

During the month of January 2008, Officer Marcus Dubuclet responded to the area of Franklin and Burmaster, in reference to a stolen vehicle that the New Orleans Police Department was pursuing. Officer Dubuclet was the first Gretna Police unit to arrive in the area. Officer Dubuclet then got behind the New Orleans Police unit and called the pursuit. While calling the pursuit, Officer gave a very detailed description of the vehicle and the direction in which it was traveling. Officer Dubuclet then indicated that suspect vehicle had stopped at Stumpf and Hancock, and that the driver exited the vehicle and he was now in a foot pursuit. Officer Dubuclet then gave a detailed description of the suspect's clothing and direction of flight. Due to Officer Dubuclet’s actions, the suspect was apprehended shortly after exiting the vehicle. While Officer Dubuclet was chasing the suspect on foot, he observed him discard a handgun, which was subsequently recovered. New Orleans Police Department Officials indicated that the suspect from the vehicle pursuit is under investigation for several other felony crimes.

Also in January 2008, Officer Dubuclet responded to a forgery complaint. Officer Dubuclet took the information from the complainant and started his investigation. Officer Dubuclet’s investigation took him to a local bank. Officer Dubuclet then met with the manager and they reviewed the video surveillance on the day the check was cashed. Using the name and drivers license of the payee, Officer Dubuclet obtained a picture of the suspect that cashed the check. Officer Dubuclet then matched the picture with the surveillance footage and positively identified the person who cashed the forged check. Officer Dubuclet then completed and issued a warrant of arrest for the suspect..

Officer Dubuclet also led his shift in statistics for the month of January 2008.
